Mirrie.

 
I scrap-booked one 12"x 12" page using a photo of my mother, whose nickname was Mirrie. My inspiration was "Minke Wedding" by Michelle Minken from Memory Makers Magazine of  August 2004.

I made the hatpins from bead and wire.

 

Some of the supplies and tools that I used were: Patterned paper from “Deja Views” Time & Again Wedding Kit, a vintage inspired collection, red Zig Calligraphy pen, card-stock, reinforcing rings, acrylic paint, hot glue, a glue-gun, an Emory board, photo corners, ink-pad, alphabet stamps, lace, binding, tags, brads, musical note shaped paperclip, etc.

   

I made the monogram M with beads and wire. You can see more beads and wire embellishments that I have made here.

Die Heidenooientjie.

I Scrapbooked one 12"x 12" page using photos of myself as a teenager. My inspiration was "A little child" by  Sarah Fishburn from the book “Creative Paper Techniques for Scrapbooks (Memory Makers)  and French Canvas Decor from Brassy Apple. The tags contain more information.

 

 Some of the supplies and tools I used were: Butterfly clip art from the Rosewood pattern pack by Colorbök, paper napkins, Matt Modge Podge by Plaid,  Memories Mists Blueberry Shake, Blue Studio G glitter glue, K & Company Smash Pen, card-stock, a foam brush (to apply the Modge Podge), a brad, dried flowers (these were covered with Modge Podge as they can stain card stock over time) fibers, a blue Aqaurelle pencil, etc. I separated the layers of paper napkins before I cut them out and they are covered with modge podge.

 

I was one of the dancers in our school play called " Die Heidenooientjie" by Olof Andresen. Loosely
translated as girl of the heath
.

 

The photos of me were taken by my dad when I was in Standard 8, my mother sewed my dress, the fabric was tule and the bodice was lurex. The background on the photos were a bit busy, so I cut out the silhouettes and attached wings cut out from paper napkins. The painting behind me was done by my mother and yes, I could play an organ as well ;-)

   

I am fortunate to still have the program, which I resized and included in my layout.

Camping in Autumn.

 
We went random camping near Limestone Mountain and Limestone Creek near Sundre, Alberta for a few days again. We camped at the spot we call "A room with a view."

The squirrels are starting to accept us, here one is on my chair.

This one even climbed up the stairs to our camper. 

 

"Limestone Mountain is a minor peak, more like an outlier of The Wedge, than a separate summit. This peak is the runt of the Opal Range, but it is an officially named summit. This little peak only reaches 2173 metres (7,129ft.) and has very little prominence from its larger neighbour. From the shared col with The Wedge, the elevation gain to the summit of Limestone Mountain is only 53 metres."- Summitpost

It wasn't too cold, but it's still nice to have a fire. The night-skies were fantastic. 

Erik woke us up one night and we saw the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis.

No trip is complete without seeing the Wild Horses of Alberta.
